The Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office is proud to introduce Project Lifesaver, a community-driven initiative designed to enhance the safety and security of our residents, especially those vulnerable to wandering due to cognitive conditions.
Project Lifesaver involves the use of small, non-intrusive transmitters worn by participants. Emitting a unique signal, these transmitters assist our specialized tracking equipment in locating individuals swiftly and efficiently in the event of wandering.
Project Lifesaver is available for individuals of all ages who may be at risk due to conditions such as Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or other cognitive challenges. Families and caregivers who seek an added layer of security for their loved ones are encouraged to participate.
Our dedicated personnel at the Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office work closely with participants and their families to ensure the proper use and effectiveness of Project Lifesaver. Training, support, and regular check-ins contribute to the overall success of the program.
Here at Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office, we believe safety is a fundamental right. Therefore, Project Lifesaver is provided entirely free of cost. We aim to empower our community by making this vital service accessible to all who need it.
