Chief Deputy Michael Strickland is a seasoned and accomplished law enforcement professional with a wealth of experience spanning over a decade. Chief Deputy Strickland embarked on his law enforcement journey in 2006 with the Greenville Police Department, marking the beginning of a career characterized by dedication and excellence.
Throughout the years, Chief Deputy Strickland has lent his expertise to various agencies, including the Butler County Sheriff's Office, Georgiana Police Department, and Luverne Police Department before returning to Greenville Police Department in 2013. His roles encompassed Patrol duties, K-9 handling, and serving as a member of Special Response Teams (SRT).
In 2019, Chief Deputy Strickland expanded his horizons by working as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. There, he played a crucial role as a Canine Handler, showcasing his commitment to global security.
Returning to the States, Chief Deputy Strickland joined the Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office in October 2021. Starting on patrol, his exceptional skills and leadership led him to the position of Chief Investigator. During this tenure, he became an APOST-certified investigator, attending numerous specialized classes, particularly in white-collar crime, to elevate his capabilities in investigation.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions and leadership, Chief Deputy Strickland was promoted to the esteemed position of Chief Deputy in August 2023. His wealth of experience and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable asset to the Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office and the community it serves.
